Daniele Cardone is an Italian fashion photographer based in Milan, working worldwide. Across campaigns, editorials, beauty, portraiture and still life, his images pair a precise commercial eye with an instinct for character and atmosphere.

Born in Barletta, in Italy’s Apulia region, in 1983, he was drawn to photography from the age of thirteen, studying the great masters and, in 1996, assisting on his first professional workshop. He trained the long way round, from film and the darkroom into a fully digital practice, and became one of the early voices in Italy to publish tutorials on photography, photo editing and retouching.

A restless traveller, he has found particular inspiration in Asia: Shanghai, Taipei, Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore, documenting the meeting of tradition and modernity. Since 2010 his focus has turned to advertising and fashion, working as photographer, director and still life specialist. He has shot for brands including Ferrari, a. testoni, Roberto Cavalli, Blumarine, Everlast, Ed Hardy and Beverly Hills Polo Club, and his work has appeared in magazines such as Vogue, L’Officiel, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Interview and Vanity Fair.

Beyond the camera, Daniele is also an entrepreneur who likes to diversify. He is the founder of WHYNOT, born as WHYNOTstudio and now grown into WHYNOT International, a Milan based consultancy and production company for brand development, international expansion and creative production. He is a partner and cofounder of Bar Brera, a bar and bistro in Milan’s Brera art district, and a partner in WAKE UP! Labs, a creative and technology agency, and in xDestination, a social platform built around shared lifestyle and travel experiences.

He is also among the selected photographers featured on Models.com, the leading directory and ranking platform of the international fashion industry. Today he lives and works in Milan.
